Tuesday 24 January 2023 Forest School - Winter Update Well, Winter certainly let us know that it had arrived! Not only did we have ice and snow but we also had some very, very, cold days with temperatures well below zero! BBBBRRRRRRRRRRR!! It was SO COLD!

Wednesday 23 March 2022 Watch the Seasons Change in Forest School It seems only recently we were braving the gales and snow out in Forest School. This week, however, has been beautiful and the children have had a wonderful time! Dens have been built, stories have been told, seeds have been planted and frogspawn has been spotted!

Monday 15 November 2021 Canning Street children LOVE Forest School! As you may know, we are taking parts of our learning outdoors this year. Several of our children have spent time developing our garden (which used to resemble a jungle!) into a lovely space where fruit and vegetables are grown. Children have also been learning all about the nature around them, whilst using sticks, twigs, flowers and leaves to make models, crafts and even dens.

Thursday 21 October 2021 What's going on in the Forest School? This week in our Forest School session, the children learned through a creative story about goblins. These creatures had created a wonderful village on our school field that was sadly flattened by a kind but terribly clumsy dragon. We asked the children to think about how they could help the goblins.

Thursday 9 September 2021 Fun in the Garden! The sun has been shining today and we have been outside picking raspberries and plums, part of our amazing fruit crop.It’s been a good year!The children have been picking the fruit themselves and taste testing!They enjoyed the plums especially.

Wednesday 8 September 2021 Outdoor Learning Begins.... This year, partially inspired by Covid and the importance of fresh air, we have decided that outdoor learning will be a key feature of our curriculum offer for all children. We are very fortunate to have a beautiful little garden area with a shed, a covered area, benches and raised beds for growing.
