Geography and History
Geography and History are high profile subjects within the Canning Street Curriculum. They provide the "Wow!" factor for our children, as well as equipping them with a broad and deep knowledge to help them better understand the world they live in. These subjects are taught discretely over alternate half terms.
For each half termly topic, each class has an agreed set of "key knowledge and vocabulary" which all children are expected to learn and remember.
Here is our whole school overview for geography:
Our knowledge organisers are split into 'core' and 'further' knowledge to meet the needs of all pupils, with varying levels of English.
We also have world maps displayed in every classroom. These maps highlight the areas of geography that the children will learn (in colour) and the areas already covered in previous years (grey areas).
