Headlice
Recently we have had a large number of children in school with head lice. Unfortunately, head lice are a problem in all schools in all parts of the world. Head lice transfer easily from head to head. If they are not completely cleared, they can easily reoccur which is annoying and frustrating. To help us to keep head lice out of school, please read the following advice:-
· Tie long hair up wherever possible.
· Check your child’s hair at least once a week
· If you find lice or eggs on your child’s hair, treat with a formula available at any chemist and some supermarkets. It is advisable to treat the whole family.
· Every day following a treatment, comb the hair through with a fine tooth comb. Continue to do this until no more eggs are found. If eggs are still apparent after a few days, treat the hair again.
· Wash towels and bedding on a hot wash.
It is essential that everyone follows the advice to ensure we keep the cases of head lice in school down. If you require any further advice or want to talk to us about this, please contact the school office.
Thank you for your understanding.
With very best wishes,
Mrs Herron
