Thursday 23 June 2022 Reception - The Queen's Jubilee The Reception pupils enjoyed learning all about the Queen, and where she lives, in the build-up to the Platinum Jubilee. They designed knickers and flags for the queen, dressed up as royal characters, practised counting using buses as well as making red, white and blue decorations and invitations for our "street party". The party was amazing! We had music, delicious food and the children wore their hand-made crowns.

Tuesday 24 May 2022 MFL Week - Reception Bonjourno! This week in Reception we learned some facts about Italy. We looked at and built some of Italy's famous landmarks such as, The Leaning Tower of Pisa. We used one of Italy's famous foods, pasta, to explore different shapes and create pictures. The pupils manipulated playdough and small objects to create the famous pizzas of Italy too! The classes collaborated and enjoyed creating the National flag of Italy using red, white and green collage materials. Their favourite experience was decorating biscuits to look like pizzas! They tasted magnifico!

Monday 28 February 2022 What a Surprise for Reception! The children have really enjoyed the story, Handa's Surprise, this term. We have learnt about the different animals- acting them out and moving like them in our PE lessons. The children have also loved learning about the fruits in the story! They have practised naming and describing the fruit as well enjoying the chance to taste and try the fruits too. The mango was sweet, the orange was tangy, the banana was soft, the pineapple was juicy, the passion fruit was sour and the avocado was creamy. Delicious!
