Wednesday 16 February 2022 Year 4 - What's That Sound? In Year 4, we have been learning all about sound in Science. We began by learning that sound is made by vibrations that can’t be seen. We investigated this by using a drum. First, we banged the drum and we found that we could hear the sound but couldn’t see anything. In order to help us see the vibrations, we used rice. When we banged the drum the second time, we saw the rice jumping and dancing on the drum skin! We also found that when we beat the drum harder, the rice jumped higher. It went everywhere!

Wednesday 24 November 2021 Year Four Are Watching You... In 4 Red, in English we were tasked with writing an explanation of a periscope. However, many of us didn't know what a periscope was! After a bit of research, we found out that it was a special instrument to see things from a hidden position.

Tuesday 5 October 2021 All About Teeth... In science, we have been learning about digestion. To begin with, we needed to find out about the first part of the digestion process – the teeth. We used mirrors to look at our teeth in detail and had examples of teeth to feel and explore. We found out that we have four types of teeth at the moment (we might get another when were older) and the different jobs that the teeth do.
